Međugorje is a town located in western Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Herzegovina region around 25 km (16 mi) southwest of Mostar and close to the border of Croatia. Since 1981, it has become a popular site of religious pilgrimage due to reports of apparitions of the Virgin Mary to six local Catholics. The name Međugorje literally means "an area between mountains". At an altitude of 200 m (660 ft) above sea level it has a mild Mediterranean climate.
Hotel Sebastian was built in 2010, with capacity of 53 beds, assigned in 28 rooms, 19 twin-beds, 5 triple-beds and 4 single. Every room has own balcony, air-conditioned and has own bathroom with shower stall. The world famous Apparition Hill can be reached in 2 km. St. James’ Church is also within walking distance. Guests can visit the town of Mostar, 25 km away, famous for its stone houses, the beautiful stone bridge and numerous old mosques. Kravice Waterfalls, stretching over 100 meters across and tumbling down 25 meters, offer pristine nature with a picnic area and a cafe. Croatian towns of Split and Dubrovnik can be reached in 2 hours. Rafting excursions on Neretva River can also be organised by a local tourist office.
